In animal shelters, thousands of dogs and cats are housed.

While some of the four-legged «guests» are able to find loving families quite quickly, others have to wait a very long time.

Despite the fact that shelter staff members typically try their best to comfort their temporary companions, occasionally the circumstances are not ideal.

Unexpectedly, one of the English dog shelters approached kindhearted individuals and asked for assistance.

Employees of the institution published the following notice on their Facebook page:

«We urge all good-hearted individuals who are skilled with yarn and knitting needles to donate sweaters for dogs who are chilly and especially lonely during the Christmas season.»

89-year-old Maisie Green was one of the people who reacted to the announcement.

The woman set to work with enthusiasm, and the shelter canines soon got to enjoy the fruits of her labor.

I adore knitting and dogs, so this is the ideal marriage of my two loves.

The happy woman announced.

Macy began regularly assisting the orphanage.

She gave the dogs more than 450 blankets and many, many sweaters over the period of three years. The woman spoke about her work as follows:

«I knit a blanket in three days and a dog jumper in one day. I like knitting because it keeps me occupied when I watch TV. I’m happy to be assisting the shelter’s four-legged residents.

Maisie’s assistance has been much appreciated by the shelter workers.

After all, dogs are no longer terrified of the beginning of the cold season thanks to the generosity of a generous woman.

Four-legged creatures are made comfortable and cozy by warm sweaters and blankets.
