American electrical engineer Bruce Campbell from Oregon built a comfortable home from a former aircraft.

It is located in the forest, in the Hillsborough area, not far from Portland.

An electrical engineer spent ten years converting an airplane into a usable home, creating the cabin, the entrance ladder, and other structures.

The house is 40 meters long and 4 meters wide and is a modified Olympic Airlines 727.

He altered the floor of a plane he purchased for $100,000 to be transparent.

The man who implemented his proposal, Bruce Campbell, says: «The planes feature seats, luggage storage, and a regular restroom.

They have practically all of the amenities required for human habitation.

He built a gangway in the aircraft’s tail, which serves as the main entrance to the original house.

There are three restrooms on board the airplane, but only the one adjacent to the steps is operational.

He added a shower cabin, kitchen appliances, a bed, and other items to the salon at his own discretion.

Also, he has a bench where he works on high-precision instruments for testing electrical shock-resistant medical equipment.

Bruce also totally renovated the house’s lighting system.

With the help of a reinforced concrete prefabricated structure and a blue material barrier, the front landing gear, houses, and the nose of the airplane are raised above the ground.

Blue paint adorns the wings and body of the aircraft. The cost of repairing a home with wings is high since the paint needs to be reapplied.

On some days, Bruce cleans his «airplane residence» routinely.

With the US Federal Aviation Administration, he registered both his home and the acquisition of it. The house was noted on the register there, letting the pilots know it wasn’t a wrecked aircraft.
