Child made the difficult choice to leave his pit bull pet in a box with a heartfelt letter outside a shelter
In the hopes that he would be secure, a youngster left his cherished, adorable puppy at the shelter’s entrance.
He left a heartfelt statement there explaining his difficult choice.
The incident took place in Michoacan City. The Refugio Xollin workforce was shocked to see a box with a puppy inside when they arrived for their daily workday in the morning.
A plush animal and a handwritten letter were discovered there.
They brought the puzzled 5- to 6-week-old pit bull inside without giving it a second’s thought, and after reading the devastating note, they realized why the puppy had been left behind.
The note was written by Andrés, a 12-year-old boy who was in need. He and his mother had to make the difficult choice to leave their cherished pet at the shelter and give him to good people.
He was confident that he would be safe there because he was in danger at home. The boy’s father mistreated their puppy, even giving him a strong kick one day that injured the puppy’s tail.
They chose to hide the dog from his father because the dog was going to be sold by the hostile father. Andrés hoped that the workers at the shelter could assist him in taking good care of his dog.
To ensure that the puppy would not forget him, he also left a stuffed animal.
Everyone at the shelter was moved by this terrible message, so the staff decided to post this tale on Facebook.
They gave the puppy the name Rene and began searching for a good family for him so that he may live the peaceful life that he so well deserves.
Just on the first day of the post, the shelter got more than 300 requests for adoption.
So perhaps Rene will find a forever sweet home soon and be adopted by kind owners.
