Couple notices the strange behavior of their rescue cat, turns out she saved their lives
Cats have a strong curiosity by nature. This trait can be a little aggravating at times, but it has also been known to save the lives of both the cat and its owners.
Residents of Oregon, Sandy and Mike Martin’s husbands last year adopted Lilly, a cat with three colors, from the Cat Adoption Team shelter, which ended up being a real savior.
Lilly started acting strangely one day. She frequently approached the fireplace and prodded the gas valve with her nose.
Sandy made numerous attempts to divert Lilly with something, but she kept going back to the fireplace. Sandy then made the decision to examine the valve.
«I thought that was unusual. Such a thing has never been done before by her. I went to the fireplace and could smell gas there.
Even though the fragrance was hardly detectable, Sandy added, «I asked my husband to check the valve.
The two decided to call the gas company after Mike also detected gas. The Martins were instructed by the company staff to quickly shut off all of the home’s equipment and open the doors.
Twenty minutes later, a gas worker showed in and announced that there was a highly severe leak.
The issue was resolved by the worker, and the family can now live in harmony. If something were to happen, their rescue cat would be there to assist the partners.
