During her’magical’ Glastonbury performance, Israel critic Dua Lipa shows her solidarity for Gaza by miming toward a prominent Palestine flag in the audience. However, some fans claim she is not miming

During her main performance at Glastonbury last night, Dua Lipa showed her support for Gaza by singing beside a group of Palestinian flags in the audience so that the flags could be captured on video.

Social media users are interpreting footage from her incredible performance yesterday, which had her sprinting into the throng to sing closer to a flag that said «Glasto for Palestine,» as a sign of her ongoing support for the cause.

The Grammy winner is one among the well-known figures who have pushed international leaders to assist in defusing the situation between Israel and Gaza.

The 28-year-old wrote, «Burning children alive can never be justified,» to her 88 million Instagram followers just one month ago. To halt the Israeli slaughter, people all throughout the world are mobilizing.

The English-Albanian singer went through a medley of hits and performed several acrobatic dance routines in a leather studded bodysuit as she was cheered on by thousands at Worthy Farm.

Viewers were captivated by Dua’s two-hour performance which did include live vocals in many of the songs.

They wrote: ‘Dua Lipa is actually too good. God I wish I was there.’

‘Smashed it dua lipa’ and ‘Dua Lipa’s been pretty good actually. I only know One Kiss, but her voice is better than I’d thought it would be. Look forward to seeing her in the Sunday afternoon legend slot in about 25 years time’.

‘This Dua Lipa and Kevin Parker collab is magical’ and ‘smashed it Dua Lipa’.

Her lips occasionally seemed to be out of time with the music during the act, which led some fans to question whether she was miming.

Those seeing the performance called it «terrible» if the One Kiss hitmaker didn’t sing live.

It’s unfortunate that #DuaLipa isn’t able to perform live, someone commented on X, the previous Twitter. Don’t show up miming at Glasto. Junk.

Prior to her Friday headline performance at the Glastonbury Festival, Dua was seen earlier in the day having a casual pub meal with her family.

Dua was photographed having lunch at THE PIG bar in Bath before her performance, accompanied by her boyfriend Callum Turner, father Dukagjin, and mother Anesa.

As she took to the Pyramid stage, Dua declared that she had fantasized «my whole life» of being the main attraction at Glastonbury Festival.

The pop sensation used stunning dancing to introduce her first headline act at the British festival. Training Season is the smash song from her third studio album, Radical Optimism, which was released earlier this year.

«I can’t believe this, I’ve dreamed about this my entire life,» she exclaimed to the gathering. And I’m so glad to be here with you guys tonight; I can’t believe I’m right up here with you guys.

She performed before a boisterous audience, who were belting out the lyrics to her 2018 song One Kiss with Calvin Harris.

In the meantime, the singer asked the audience whether they were prepared «to go to the moon» during her 2020 hit song Levitating.

March’s Brit Award winner for best pop performer, Dua, entertained attendees with a number of her hit songs, such as «Break My Heart» and «Illusion.»

It happens after pop sensation Emily Eavis, the festival’s organiser, declared that she was ‘born’ to rock the main stage.

There won’t be «any major surprises» at this year’s festival, she said on BBC Radio 2’s The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show, but Coldplay’s Saturday headlining slot will be a «huge moment.»

American R&B singer SZA will headline on Sunday, while country star Shania Twain will play the coveted Legends slot.

Earlier, Emily defended the festival line-up amid criticism that there is a lack of rock bands, saying: ‘I think the line-up reflects what’s happening in the music world at the moment — there aren’t a lot of new rock acts to choose from, if I’m honest.

‘Hopefully that will emerge again, my heyday was 1995 with Pulp and Oasis and Radiohead… and that was great, but music changes all the time and right now this is where we’re at.

‘Every year, we’ve been criticised for being too rock, too grime, too hip hop, too pop… it’s just part of our year.
«It’s not usually from the public; everyone is genuinely happy and excited to be here.»

The festival this year is taking place the week before the general election. Emily expressed her feeling that, despite the election being next week, she feels as though it has already happened.

We had planned to set up voter registration booths, but the day got away from us.

«We’ve never had a pre-election festival, so it’s a big one for us.»

The Euro 2024 football tournament, in which England is scheduled to play Slovakia in the round of 16 on Sunday at 5 p.m., will not be televised at Glastonbury.

Emily stated that although things have changed, the festival used to set up a screen to watch events during the 1998 World Cup.

«We used to have a screen here because we were so isolated from the outside that no one could even find out what the outcome was,» she remarked.

Now that everyone is connected, it seems like a music festival, don’t you think?

«I’m sure people can check for results or whatever on their phones if they want to see it enough.»

However, I wish to inspire others to ignore the outside world and put their phones aside.
