George Clooney has said that Quentin Tarantino has «a little irritated» him by talking «s**t» about him.Written by Tarantino early in his career, the two costarred as siblings in Robert Rodriguez’s 1996 drama From Dusk ‘Till Dawn.
George first gained notoriety as Doug Ross in the hospital drama ER. He then went on to have a prosperous Hollywood career, appearing in blockbuster movies like O Brother, Where Art Thou?, One Fine Day, and Out of Sight.However, despite their prior working together and George’s stellar career in front of and behind the camera, Quentin, 61, apparently spoke poorly of the 63-year-old lately, with the heartthrob being unimpressed.
George added, «I’m a little irritated by Quentin because he said some s**t about me recently,» in a joint GQ interview with friend Brad Pitt.
«Well, what about George?» this guy asks during an interview in which he was listing movie stars and included you and another person. «He’s not a movie star,» he remarks. And he said, quite literally, «Name me a movie since the millennium.» And I thought, ‘Since the year 2000? I mean, that’s my entire f***ing career.»»
During their conversation, Brad, George’s longtime friend, seemed to find George’s outburst amusing, chuckling, «Heh heh heh heh heh,» rather than offering his support.
George continued to express his annoyance with the filmmaker, saying, «So now I’m like, all right, dude, f*** off.» I have no problem s***ing him off. He treated me like s***.
Despite his annoyance, George maintained that they were ‘very fortunate’ to work with ‘excellent directors’ as actors, adding that a movie’s storyline and directors are what ‘keeps you alive’ — a lesson he learned from appearing in’really awful films’.
Although the actor is a little irritated with Quentin, he was all praise for his longtime friend Brad, who co-stars in the upcoming action comedy Wolfs.
George joked about «restraining orders» before describing how the two «check in on each other» periodically, which he said is a «important» aspect of friendship because life can be «complicated at times.»
Brad gushed over his friend, who co-starred in Ocean’s Eleven, their first film together, saying that George is the «best at understanding» and that he calls him «numerous occasions» when things get «bumpy.»
Going into further detail about their relationship, Brad compares their A-list celebrity to being like a gazelle separated from the herd, stating that he takes «comfort» in the knowledge that George is among the select few who can relate to his predicament.
Putting their friendship aside, the two got competitive when talking about their 1980s mullets.
Brad declared his mullet to be «one of the greatest that ever existed,» while George argued his locks were superior. Then, playing the role of peacemaker, George said their hair was a part of their «really good shared experience.»
Brad and George starred together in Ocean’s Eleven in 2001. They later worked together again in Ocean’s Twelve and Ocean’s Thirteen in 2004 and 2007.
They also acted in the Coen Brothers’ 2008 film Burn After Reading, and Brad made a brief appearance in George’s 2002 feature directorial debut, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind.
They also starred in Dustin Lance Black’s 2012 play 8, which had a stellar cast that included Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Bacon, and others and debuted live on YouTube. In their most recent project, Wolfs, the actors play two obstinate «lone wolf» professional fixers whose lives are turned upside down when they are given the same task.
In 2022, it came to light that Pitt and Clooney had agreed to take compensation cutbacks in order to guarantee the movie’s theatrical distribution in addition to its Apple TV Plus premiere.
