Harry Styles fans shocked by surprise guest at BST Hyde Park concert

When Harry Style was revealed as a surprise guest during Steve Nicks’ Friday night headline performance at BST Hyde Park, the audience was left in disbelief.

Joining the 76-year-old Fleetwood Mac veteran, the 30-year-old singer of Water Melon Sugar gave a moving homage to her late bandmate Christine McVie on what would have been her 81st birthday.

Tragically, Christine passed away in December 2022 following a stroke while battling cancer.
Before Stevie paid homage to her later friend, Harry joined her on stage for a performance of her iconic hits, Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around and Landslide.

Stevie looked every bit the rock star in all black, while the pop icon, dressed in his signature 70s suit, exuded confidence as he grabbed the mike.

A tearful Stevie informed the crowd, «I want you to know that Christine was my girl and she loved all of us and today was her birthday,» as Harry looked on.

I want you to know how much I thank all of you for helping me get over [her death].

Prior to saying, «Harry, we thank you, I thank you,»

After fifty years, Stevie had previously disclosed that the passing of Christine was the last straw that brought an end to the illustrious rock group Fleetwood Mac.

2018 was the final performance of the iconic lineup, which included Mick Fleetwood, Lindsey Buckingham, and John McVie, at their MusiCares tribute at Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan.

Following his dismissal, singer-guitarist Mike Campbell and musician Neil Finn joined Fleetwood Mac for their 88-date An Evening with Fleetwood Mac tour in 2018–2019, replacing Buckingham.

It was a big tour, and we had a terrific time. The 75-year-old rock star told Vulture that «that was there in the realm of possibility.»

However, I believed that Christine could not be replaced after her death. It’s simply not possible. What would it be without her? Do you understand what I mean? She was not only my best friend but also my soul mate, my musical soul mate, and the person I spent the most time with outside of Fleetwood Mac.

Stevie, whose real name is Stephanie, likened her relationship with the British singer-keyboardist to the line «you always have been» from Taylor Swift’s 2022 song You’re on Your Own, Kid.

That was me and Christine. That band of ours was us on our own. We were always like this. We shielded one another,» Nicks said.

«Whom should I turn to look to the right and hope they’re not hiding behind that Hammond organ?» I reasoned that we really couldn’t proceed with this once she passed away. There’s no justification.

The drummer for Fleetwood Mc expressed his continued optimism that Buckingham and lead singer Stevie can put their differences behind them.

The band’s co-founder was keen to point out that Fleetwood Mac’s resuscitation is not a prerequisite for a peaceful conclusion between the two ex-lover and bandmates.

Regarding Buckingham and Nicks’ troubled relationship, which dates back to the 1960s, the 77-year-old British guitarist told Mojo, «It’s no secret, it’s no title-tattle that there is a brick wall there emotionally.»

«Lindsey and Stevie can both communicate effectively about their feelings and emotions,» he continued. However, I will say that, personally, I would love to see them reconcile; this need not necessarily take the form of a tour.
