Having been taken in by a man, the homeless dog ended up saving the life of its owner
Not every hero dons a cape. There are some of them on four legs who enjoy wagging their tails.
On April 14, a lot of people learned about one of these heroes, an El Paso-based American pit bull terrier named Astro (Texas, USA).
Astro was a stray dog that was taken from a shelter by the current owner and his parents after spending a year there. The man had no idea that the animal might one day save his life.
The owner of Astro fell unwell on April 14. There was nowhere to wait for assistance because the house only contained him and a dog.
The dog then bolted outside into the street, found a neighbor, invited him inside, and explained to him what had happened to the owner.
As soon as the neighbor called for an ambulance, the man was on his way to the hospital.
The dog attempted to enter the car with his owner when the ambulance arrived, but they refused.
The victim’s mother, Berta Martinez, said that she first had reservations about getting a pit bull a year ago, but that her feelings have since significantly altered.
Berta remarked, «We never believed he was capable of doing something like this.
The El Paso Fire Department (EPFD) and the Department of Livestock presented the heroic tail with awards for saving the life of his owner.
