Hilton discusses how Demi Lovato’s documentary served as inspiration for her book: i was astounded by her bravery
Paris Hilton acknowledged that her recent biography was influenced by a documentary on Demi Lovato.
The 42-year-old heiress, who gave birth to her son Phoenix in January, published Paris:

The Memoir earlier this month. In it, she discussed her motivation for writing the book and was frank about her life.
The reality TV actress claimed that Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated, the singer’s 2017 documentary about her life as Cool for the Summer, 30, had inspired her to share her own tale.
She was «as real, vulnerable, and courageous as the rest of the world,» wrote Hilton.

When I met Demi in person, I witnessed her in the midst of an incredible journey of self-acceptance and discovery.
In the documentary, Demi described a painful reckoning with a traumatic past. I coveted that approval. I wanted to learn it for myself,» she continued.
In the documentary Lovato opened up about some of her past struggles with drug abuse and depression.
Lovato then followed-it up with another documentary series in 2021, titled Dancing With The Devil,
where she discussed the trauma of her near-fatal 2018 overdose on heroin and fentanyl, which left her hospitalized.

Meanwhile Paris has been discussing a fair share of her own trauma in her book.
Among the number of serious topics she talked about was her decision to have an abortion in her twenties,
being raped at the age of 15, and the impact her sex tape scandal had on her career and her family.
The abuse she experienced while attending a boarding school for problematic kids in the 1990s was a major theme in many of her unpleasant memories.
‘This book was like a diary,’ the socialite claimed during a recent visit on Good Morning America.

«I put everything in there, so many really horrific events I underwent, particularly as a teenager,
and so many memories I just didn’t want to remember — but also a lot of the fantastic, exciting times,» the author said. I’ve had such a wonderful life.
Because I’ve been through so many difficult situations and have carried so much with me for so long,
letting go of so much has been incredibly cathartic and healing. But, she continued, «Just putting it all out there felt fantastic.
