How Tom Kaulitz, Heidi Klum’s spouse, asked her children «For My Hand» before to popping the question on Christmas morning
When Heidi Klum recalls the endearing manner her husband Tom Kaulitz included her kids in his proposal, she still flushes.
Regarding America’s Got Talent competitor Richard Goodall’s ode to his fiancée, the judge from NBC exclusively shared with PEOPLE one of Kaulitz’s most affectionate actions.
«The sweetest thing that my partner has done for me is that he asked my kids first if he could ask for my hand,» she said with a laugh. «So he kind of was in cahoots with my kids.»
Six years ago on Christmas morning, they all shocked me after they worked out their plan. That he included my kids, I felt was very sweet,» she continued.
A few years after Klum, 50, and Seal, with whom she shares her four children, Leni, 20, Henry, 18, Johan, 17, and Lou, 14, finally divorced, the couple started dating in 2018. They fell in love right away, and in February 2019, they secretly got married.

Following the AGT candidates Rhythm & Roni’s impressive performance on stage on August 13, the former supermodel disclosed that she and Kaulitz had been attending dance classes to liven up their marriage.
Klum acknowledged to PEOPLE that her spouse struggled with rhythm and that they were still rehearsing their first dance, despite their best attempts.
«We began by dancing rumba. It isn’t going well at all,» she said. «I thought because he’s a musician, so I thought he has a good feeling for beat and all of that stuff.»

Klum claims that the music producer is skilled at feeling the beat and playing «any instrument,» but he has no idea how to dance. «How is this possible, I wonder?»
«I want to do proper stuff with him because we want to grow old together,» she said. «So there’s so many places where you have the opportunity to dance and I love dancing together.»
When it comes to dancing, Klum remembers steps quickly, but Kaulitz says she has «two left feet when it comes to this so we need a lot more practice.»
«I assumed we would have moved passed rumba by now. She joked, «I thought we were already on the first same dance and we moved on to [the fox trot] for something.» «We started in January as a New Years resolution and we’re still on the first.»
