Ice Spice’s Elegant Reaction to the Festival Goers Jeering Taylor Swift’s «Karma»
Even in the face of detractors, Ice Spice and Taylor Swift’s bond remains unwavering.
When Swift, 34, sang «Karma,» a song that incorporates Spice in a 2023 remix of the original 2022 song, during her set at Austria’s Rolling Loud Music Festival, the rapper, 24, responded to the crowd that had jeered.
The vocalist of «Princess Diana»‘s reply? Isis Naija Gaston, better known as Spice, sent a kiss to each member of the crowd before brushing it off and carrying on with her performance.
Swift expressed her delight at collaborating with Spice on the remix of «Karma,» which was first featured on the October 2022 Midnights album, when it was released in May of last year.
«Working together on «Karma» with Ice Spice was one of the most organic things,» the Grammy winner remarked at the time in an audio clip posted on Spotify.
«Hey, Ice has been a big fan of Taylor’s since she was a little kid, would love to collaborate if that was ever something that came about,» she kind of said through her staff.
Since then, the two musicians have remained friends and have gone to a number of events together, including as the 2023 MTV VMAs and the 2024 Super Bowl, which featured a performance by Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce.
In September 2023, Swift also sent an email to Variety expressing her respect for Spice.

Swift wasn’t present when Ice Spice gave her girl a shoutout during «Karma» during the second weekend of the event.
