As per Judge Catherine Burton of the Insolvency and Companies Court, Price has been given’very unambiguous warnings’ to ensure she shows up for the Tuesday hearing.
The barristers for the trustee in both of the former model’s bankruptcies were scheduled to grill her about her money in the London bankruptcy court.
At a prior hearing, the judge warned Price that she would face arrest if she missed any more court appearances and insisted that evidence would need to be presented if she was unable to appear.
Judge Burton issued the arrest warrant after noting that Price had not given a reason for her absence and had «failed to attend today’s hearing.»
«In my opinion, the court must issue a warrant for Ms. Price’s arrest,» she stated.
«She really has no good reason not to be at the hearing today.»
«The reason for her absence today is irrelevant,» she went on.
The judge, Burton, stated that although Price had only provided ‘piecemeal co-operation’ and had not supplied the’most fundamental facts’ regarding her bankruptcies, the arrest warrant had not been issued ‘lightly’.
Price was originally declared bankrupt in 2019 and was declared bankrupt again in March due to an outstanding tax obligation of £761,994.05.
After receiving an eviction notice, she was told to vacate her Mucky Mansion by the end of May. She has subsequently moved into a new Tudor-style home that costs £5,000 a month.
But after being forced to vacate her Sussex hideout, she declared this week that «everything is sorted» with her second bankruptcy.
In an interview with Channel 5 News on Monday, the model vowed she would «never hit rock bottom again,» insisting she now knew «how to deal with issues.»
She stated, «I’m doing really, really good,» during her speech on the show. I’ve gained a lot of knowledge about mental health, myself, and, most clearly, my severe ADHD diagnosis. I wish I had known this information years ago.
«It becomes noise in your head, and you just can’t handle it. You start to feel like there’s no hope for the future, which leads to depression, a suicidal breakdown, and an admission to the Priory.»
In connection with her initial bankruptcy, Price was mandated to give the trustee 40% of her monthly earnings from the adult entertainment website OnlyFans for the next three years during a hearing in February.
Then, in March, she was officially declared bankrupt a second time because she owed HM Revenue & Customs almost £750,000 in unpaid taxes.
Price declared in October of last year that she would go to prison to be «done with it all» because she was «fed up» with being threatened with legal action.
At a hearing called a public examination on Tuesday, she was expected to answer questions about her finances. The trustee’s attorney, Darragh Connell, informed the court in written submissions that there «remains significant information missing as regards the bankrupt’s income and asset position.»
Speaking in court, he stated that Ms. Price «would not be kept in custody for a long period of time,» but rather would be held to ensure her appearance at a later hearing. The trustee, he added, did not «have any information as to her whereabouts.»
«We are at the end of the road in relation to this matter, but her liberty is on the line,» he stated.
According to what the court heard, Katie has a history of making several «last-minute» motions to modify her prior hearings.
