Lovato ends business relationship amicably after four years of marriage

Demi Lovato has ended her working relationship with her manager Scooter Braun, DailyMail.com can confirm.

The 31-year-old singer and the 42-year-old music mogul are parting ‘amicably,’ Billboard first reported on Monday.

The reason for the professional split is currently unclear, though Braun’s recent warm social media post wishing Lovato — who is nonbinary

and uses she/her and they/them pronouns interchangeably — a happy birthday indicates that he holds no ill will toward them.

Representatives for Lovato and Braun declined to comment to DailyMail.com.

The news is oddly timed, as it comes after Justin Bieber, who is possibly Braun’s most high-profile client, was forced to deny that he was planning to drop Braun and was searching for new management.

However, Lovato and Braun ended their working relationship a month ago, preceding the rumors about Bieber.

A spokesperson for both Bieber and Braun later denied Puck News’ report in a statement to DailyMail.com.

Lovato signed with Braun and his SB Projects firm in 2019, and before that she was managed by Phil McIntyre of PhilyMack.

She celebrated the moment she signed with Braun’s company with photos of herself and Braun grinning ear-to-ear after signing their contracts.

On Sunday, Braun reposted a beaming picture of Lovato as they got their hair and makeup done, which was originally shared to heir Instagram account in mid-July.

‘Happy birthday to one of the kindest souls out there, happy Bday @ddlovato!!’ Braun gushed in his Instagram Stories caption.

Lovato began her professional relationship with Braun a year after she suffered a near-fatal overdose in July 2018, just a month after releasing

a single title Sober in which she appeared to admit that she had returned to using drugs after six years of sobriety.

The singer later revealed that the stroke caused serious health issues, including multiple strokes and a heart attack. It also left her with brain damage that has led to lasting vision issues.

As she tried to move on from her medical emergency, she specifically sought out Braun due to his status in the industry.

However, he revealed in her 2021 documentary Dancing With The Devil, via Rolling Stone, that he had planned to turn her down when he was first approached.
