On her 104th birthday, Grandma’s yearning to hold a penguin was at last fulfilled.
Many different things are on people’s wish lists, such as meeting your favorite celebrity, visiting Paris, skydiving, and a whole lot more.
Since she was a young child, Connecticut resident Bertha Komor has had an uncommon but endearing dream: she wants to cradle a penguin in her arms.
The personnel at the Holiday Village Gate of Farmington made the decision to fulfill Bertha’s dream on her 104th birthday by matching her with a penguin named Mr. Red Green.
The staff and officials of the nearby Mystic Aquarium came to an agreement that a special guest would be brought right to the woman’s birthday.
To keep Mr. Red Green secure and at ease while traveling, he was transported in a special tank.
Bertha and all of her guests were ecstatic when the penguin showed up at her party.
A black and white feathered man was removed from the aquarium by Mystic Aquarium staff, who then offered the leading lady the chance to carry him in her arms. This shocked everyone even more.
She didn’t realize right away that her fantasy was about to come true. She joyfully embraced the penguin and started lovingly petting his sides and back.
Bertha remarked, «I never imagined this would truly occur.
On this momentous day, Bertha was joined by her cherished daughter and granddaughter in addition to friends and nursing home staff.
I’m overjoyed for her. She was overjoyed when her long-held goal was fulfilled. According to Karen Rivkin, Bertha’s granddaughter, «I hope she will remain in our life for a very long time and will be able to realize her other dreams.»
