Taylor overcomes a stage wardrobe mishap as she rejoins the Eras tour following a breakup
During the first of three Tampa stops on Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour, a tiny catastrophe nearly occurred.
Taylor, 33, was playing onstage at the Raymond James Stadium in Florida when one of her garters snapped as she was finishing up «Lavender Haze.»
The item protruded from under Taylor’s sequined dress and presented a potential problem for the duration of the performance. Now, this wardrobe mishap would have derailed someone else,
but Taylor handled it like «an absolute pro,» according to the Twitter account @swifferupdates that reposted the TikTok video from @gaygarbage7.
Taylor went through each stage of a wardrobe malfunction in video taken by a fan: spotting the damaged item («she notices it here,» says the Swiftie),
confronting the problem («[she] thinks about how she’ll fix it»), acting («[she] calmly walks over to her backup singers for help»), and solving the problem.
Taylor approaches her dancers, The Starlights, as she begins «Anti-Hero,» making eye contact with them and mouthing, «Can you help me?» in between lines. No steps were missed by Taylor.
One supporter tweeted, «I was literally watching her on this side of the stadium, and I didn’t even NOTICE it happened, like what a pro,» to which another fan replied.
One person said, «I love how she was singing ‘I end up in crisis’ while having a wardrobe crisis (malfunction),» while another agreed.
«Is it just me, or do we have a lot of things to catch up on?» Taylor posed the question to the stadium crowd in Florida.
To say that a lot has transpired since I last went on tour would be an understatement.
It’s been a really long time. It’s possible that she was making a subliminal allusion to her recent split from actor Joe Alwyn.
The two broke up «a few weeks ago,» according to the report on Entertainment Tonight. According to reports, their romance «just run its course.»
