Taylor Swift celebrates Post Malone’s «amazing» new music by calling him «the most down to earth guy alive»
Post Malone is receiving some love from Taylor Swift! On Saturday, August 17, the 34-year-old Grammy winner thanked the 29-year-old singer of «Sunflower» for releasing his new F-1 Trillion album just one day after it was released in a post on her Instagram Stories.
Swift posted a snapshot of herself and Austin smiling at each other while filming the music video for the song «Fortnight,» which is off her album The Tortured Poets Department. She said, «Was lucky enough to hear this amazing music on the set of the ‘Fortnight’ video when Austin played it for me.»
She went on, «It’s amazing how versatile his artistry is.» «And he’s simply the most grounded person I’ve ever met.»
After Swift requested him to work with her on her most recent album, Malone—real name Austin Post—previously thanked the «Cruel Summer» singer on Instagram with a Polaroid picture of the two of them sitting together in the studio.
«Someone like @taylorswift comes into this world once in a lifetime,» he captioned the photo. this heart and intelligence astound me, and I am incredibly pleased to have been allowed to assist you on this path 🥹. I adore you a great deal. I’m grateful, Tay 💕.»
While Post Malone just released his first full-length country album with his new album, Swift is notable for having begun in the genre before branching out into mainstream.
On Apple Music’s Today’s Country Radio with Kelleigh Bannen, he first talked candidly about recording the album in Music City when he said, «It’s really nice meeting people in Nashville that made me feel so welcome and new friends and kind of building new stuff.» And for once, my sadness has subsided. I’m really, really delighted,» the performer continued.
In addition, Malone said that he «found a group of really, really good folks» with whom to record his new album, adding, «I’m so f—— pumped because it was such a fresh thing going and watching this band and writing with new people.»
The rapper has already worked with country music singers on a number of projects, including as a performance at the November 2023 CMA Awards alongside Morgan Wallen and HARDY and a cameo on Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter album.
In May, he published the lead single off the new album, «Pour Me a Drink,» which featured country music icon Blake Shelton. In July, he released the song «Yours,» which is dedicated to his 2-year-old daughter.
On August 16, Malone held a listening party at Nashville’s Losers Bar & Grill to commemorate the release of his debut country album. As the crowd applauded, he was shown performing his new songs live with his band.
