Thank you, Britney Spears! Kate Beckinsale gets unexpected support from none other than Britney Spears
After receiving an unexpected message of support from none other than Britney Spears, Kate Beckinsale dismissed ageist internet trolls by taking a selfie that revealed her midriff.
The 50-year-old, who was dressed in a two-piece white costume, shared a number of photos to Instagram on Wednesday.
Fans were able to see Beckinsale’s toned legs and flat stomach thanks to the top and shorts set.
Posing in front of a mirror, the actress wore her hair tied back in a headband and wore gold jewelry.
In one photo, Beckinsale had a solemn expression, but in the other, she had a beaming smile.
The English actress’s remark follows Britney Spears’ defense of her on Wednesday, when Beckinsale responded to trolls who had criticized her for sharing videos of herself dancing as a way to decompress following a string of personal catastrophes.
Spears, 42, defended Beckinsale in a text message. Beckinsale has been dealing with personal concerns such as the death of her stepfather, her mother’s cancer diagnosis, and a six-week hospital stay.
The Grammy-winning singer asked her 42.2 million followers, «Have any of you seen the Kate Beckinsale movie Serendipity?» I’ll tell you what, if you haven’t already, you really should!
«I love Kate Beckinsale, and I love it even more that she’s from London!» She is in her 50s, so I found it fairly badass that she responded to the terribly mean comments on her Instagram account that she needed more age-appropriate content by wearing a tiny bow in her hair that made her appear approximately 4 years old.
The singer of the song «Oops!… I Did It Again» stated that «wealth and health» don’t «rely solely» on money but rather on giving back to these sage a**holes, just like Kate did!»
Spears drew a comparison between the backlash she’s received on social media and the remarks Beckinsale has received, citing ‘comments’ on her page that express how’sad’ it is that she’s ‘dancing every single day’ on Instagram at her age.
According to Spears, she «taught a dance class last week to a couple of teenagers» and she thinks it’s critical that people «help EACH OTHER» by inviting one another to locations that foster spiritual growth.
What are you going to do to help someone and fulfill their aspirations, other than joining me and Kate’s detractors in saying we’re too old or don’t have proper content?’ inquired the Toxic vocalist.
«Do you think that what they see could offend them?»
The singer of «Baby One More Time» expressed her belief that it is immensely wonderful to be open enough to ask for guidance or assistance from others.
Ironically, though, given how vicious some people can be in this world, you have to be very selective about who you let into your heart and social circle.
Spears also responded to criticism that Ozzy Osbourne, 75, and his daughter Kelly Osbourne, 39, had leveled recently on their podcast, The Osbournes, regarding her dancing-filled Instagram pictures.
Kelly expressed her sympathy to the singer, «you know, it’s sad, very, very sad,» but Ozzy was more blunt.
In response, Spears declared, «I’m going to do a photoshoot with Kate and tell the Osbourne family, who are the most boring people on the planet, to please f*** off!»
Earlier this month, Beckinsale used Instagram to respond to critics who brought up her age and attractiveness. She had been venting on social media about difficult times.
‘Let’s have a toast for the douche bags,’ Beckinsale said to her critics, quoting Kanye West’s 2010 song Runaway, along with one clip. We should raise a glass to the a**holes. We should raise a glass to the scumbags.
Beckinsale mentioned her mother Judy Loe’s cancer diagnosis, health problems she’s battled, and the «stress and grief» she’s gone through since her stepfather Roy Battersby passed away earlier this year.
