Gaby Mann, 8, of Seattle, enjoys collecting items, just like many children her age.

A yellow bead, a blue earring, a mini lightbulb, a paper clip, and many other «values» can be found in her personal «treasury.»

Gaby doesn’t, however, go out and gather her own treasures like other children her age do. She receives them from crows.

Yes, Gaby befriends birds, just like Snow White or Cinderella in Disney animated films. And the girl receives gifts frequently from appreciative birds.

It all began really by chance.

Gaby was only a young child (just starting to walk).

Food frequently dropped onto the path from her hands while she was walking.

As soon as the girl left the house, the crows gathered and kept a tight eye on her to see if they might use this as an opportunity to make some money.

On her way to the school bus stop, Gaby eventually started feeding the crows some of her leftover school lunch.

The crows started to congregate at the girl’s house every morning as a result, cawing to welcome her and follow her to the stop.

And Gaby made the decision to show her pals some kindness.

She installed a feeder and drinker outside her home and stocked it each morning with fresh food (nuts, dog food, and leftovers from lunch). After that, crows’ presents started to materialize.

A blue paper clip, a Lego block, a rusty bolt, a sparkling heart pendant, and other items are now among 8-year-old Gaby’s valuables.

Gaby collects gifts with care and places them in a special box.

She thinks the heart-shaped pendant is the most priceless of them all. The girl feels that by giving her this present, the crows are expressing their love for her.
