The patrons love this pub worker. you will be surprised when you find out that we are talking about a dog
25-year-old Katherine McLennan, manager of the Brighton pub The Cow, works every day at the establishment along with her lercher dog named Begbie.
The four-legged employee loves his job and even wears his own badge.
“I edited a photo of Begbie for the badge and then printed it. I was afraid the pub owners wouldn’t let me make a badge for the dog because it’s basically a fake photo ID. But everyone thought it was a great idea,”
Begbie joined the pub in February 2020 after his owner asked his boss to bring the dog to work.
Since the dog was not large, the boss agreed, and did not regret it at all: after all, the tailed one made the pub famous.
Visitors to The Cow are delighted with Begbie, despite the fact that he is still a worker.
Dog constantly falls asleep at the counter, forgets to serve tables, steals trays and shoes from customers.
“Lerchers are often thieves. One day Begbie snatched a £550 bag out of my hands. Chasing him was fun. He loves to be chased and knows that if he steals something important, he will draw attention to himself. All the staff and visitors of the pub are used to it.” Katherine said.
When Begbie is awake at the counter and stealing the shoes of the patrons. He engages them in the game with his favorite toys that Katherine brings especially for him.
“Some of our regulars come and bring Begbie to their table. Sometimes they wait if he’s too busy,” Katherine said.
Even on the busiest Friday evening, Begbie can fall asleep in the middle of the pub.
Children especially like him. For example, one little girl asks her father every weekend to take her to the pub to see a funny dog.
Begbie also has a lot of fans on social media, where his owner regularly posts funny photos and videos of her hard worker pet.
