The world’s oldest coսple shares their advice for maintaining a hаppy marriage and gоod health after 100 yеars of mаrriage
According to Guinness World Records, John Henderson and Charlotte, a retired couple from Texas who wed in 1939, are the oldest living marriage in the world.

Just one month before their 80th wedding anniversary on December 15, the couple obtained their Guinness World Records certificate earlier last month in November.
105-year-old Charlotte and 106-year-old John originally met at the University of Texas in 1934,
where Charlotte was pursuing her teaching certification and John was working as a guard for the football team.

John believed that their simple way of living led to Charlotte and John’s continued good health in their 100s, which they still enjoy compared to the majority of their peers.
«We never go overboard. Eat sensibly. Rest well. Don’t drink too much. In a 2017 interview with USA Today, John shared the key to long life: «Don’t overeat, and exercise frequently.»

While a 2015 Belgian study indicated that women who «live alone is more advantageous than living with a partner» profit more from marriage than males,
John and Charlotte demonstrated that a happy and successful marriage could ultimately benefit both sides.
The couple’s 80 years of marriage may have contributed to their ability to enjoy life and good health long after they passed away.

«When John retired, we had a great time. We did a lot of traveling, Charlotte said. We simply keep ourselves occupied all the time, which I’m sure helps.
John, on the other hand, offers a straightforward piece of advise for individuals who want to enjoy their golden years in excellent health and a loving marriage.
«Lead a moderate lifestyle and treat your spouse with respect!» John uttered.
