Twin sisters were made fun of for having strange hair: they are now well-known models
Cipriana Quann and TK Wonder, twins, used to despise their hair.
I didn’t have any creative freedom, claims Cipriana. My hair has almost made me loathe it and perceive it as a barrier.

Yet after some time, they made the decision to stop straightening their curls because they loved them.
They began the Urban Bush Babes blog with friend Nikisha Brunson, describing it as follows:
It’s now to the point where people frown upon those who wear an Afro or otherwise leave their hair in its original state. We sought to dispel inaccurate perceptions of natural hair.

The eccentric sisters are now admired by people all over the world and have appeared in picture sessions for ASOS, Gap, and fashion magazines.
Cipriana had prepared the responses in advance because the girls ask the same questions every day.
Is everything here your own hair?

Whoa, those must be hefty; is it difficult for you to maintain your composure? The notion that Afro curls are bulky is widely held. In actuality, the reverse is true.
In the heat of New York, I can’t say I don’t feel the effects of global warming, yet our hair may appear heavy, it really is as light as a feather. So, no, it is not.
— Do you have braided dreadlocks?
— No.
Why not braid your hair? Although dreadlocks are fantastic, I favor my hair’s natural appearance.

– «Why don’t you wear the same hairdo as your sister?» is another of my favorite questions.
My initial thinking is: well, that’s my right, certainly, I love my hair the way it is now, else I would have selected a different haircut long ago.
I respond, «It’s just my choice,» instead. With all humor aside, I enjoy the way our hair looks because it is different from how it looks.
