Valerie Bertinelli Gives Her Boyfriend An Endearing Birthday Message
In honor of Mike Goodnough’s 54th birthday, the cookbook author made light of their shared penchant for snapping selfies.
Valerie Bertinelli’s partner is a year older than her, but he still hasn’t caught up to her, she laughs in a recent birthday tribute!
On Saturday, August 17, the 64-year-old author of Indulge posted a happy 54th birthday message on Instagram to her partner Mike Goodnough, all the while making light of their shared penchant for taking selfies.
In remembrance of Goodnough, also known online as Hoarse Whisperer, Bertinelli posted a selfie of the two of them looking put together, with her giving him a cheek kiss. In addition to making jokes about her in the comments, Bertinelli’s photo included a lovely sky.

With their most recent achievement, the former Food Network personality will be celebrating her boyfriend’s birthday for the first time since they began dating in January.
In April, Bertinelli declared that she was «in love,» although she withheld Goodnough’s identity from her at the beginning of their relationship.
She stated, «It’s a seesaw of emotions because I was adamant I was never falling in love again.» A few years ago, she met her partner, who lives on the East Coast, on Instagram. «It was purely platonic, but there was something familiar and relatable about him.»
They had no romantic chats or feelings till the beginning of 2024. «The degree of comfort is insane,» she continued. «It feels very correct.»
Soon after they began out together in April, the couple became well-known. They have since gushed about one another in interviews and on social media, and in June they made their Daytime Emmys red carpet debut.
For the duration of their bicoastal romance, Bertinelli and Goodnough even instituted a «three-week» guideline early on in their courtship to maintain communication. She stated at the time, «We never go longer than that without seeing each other.» Bertinelli sent PEOPLE an update four months later.

Goodnough just disclosed on Instagram this week that Bertinelli helped him when he had a childhood friend who was «nearing end of life» in March. He mentioned that in order to be present for him, his spouse had to postpone «family plans that mattered to her.»
