Katie Holmes slipped into a retro-looking black slip dress with beige lace accents as she set out on a solo shopping trip in New York City.
The Dawson’s Creek alum, 44, carried an oversized tote and slipped her feet into a comfortable pair of black ballet slipper-style shoes.
The mom of Suri Cruise, 17, wore black sunglasses and had a hair tie around one wrist.
She wore her signature brunette locks in their natural loose wave as her hair flowed down her back.
The Alone Together star debuted her new, natural curly hairstyle earlier this week at the 16th Annual Chanel Tribeca Artists Dinner.
The Batman Begins star is somewhat of a reluctant fashion icon.
‘We live in a world where we have a premiere and you want to look nice, and it turns into being a fashion person,’ she said in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar last year.
‘I’m like, «Well, I just like to look nice, I’m not really a fashion person.» We all just want to look good,’ Katie added.
And the First Daughter actress also confessed that her true signature look is her vintage t-shirt collection.
‘I love my T-shirts, and I love my vintage T-shirts. They’re so yummy. They’re a little dirty, a little stained or whatever, and that’s me,’ the Rare Objects star said.
And she also confessed to thinking sustainably when it comes to her wardrobe whether that means keeping something for a long time, donating it or reselling it.
‘We don’t have a choice anymore,’ she said. ‘We have to be smart and conscious, and do the right thing.’
And while she has a collection of vintage handbags, she admitted to a favorite indulgence in that category: Bottega Veneta bags.
