After being sent to a Spanish hospital on Friday night following a «incident in a swimming pool» at an Ibiza home, Zac Efron made his public statement.
The 36-year-old actor from High School Musical posted a picture of himself lifting barbells while lying on an exercise ball while working out shirtless on his Instagram Stories on Sunday.
The toned matinee star wrote, «Happy and Healthy, thanks for the well wishes,» as the post’s caption.
With reference to TMZ, the star’s sources said that the actor was ‘discovered inside the swimming pool by two people working at the villa who pulled him out of the water.’
Efron was hospitalized ‘as a precautionary measure’ after the’minor’ incident, his representative revealed to the site, and he is’recovering perfectly fine.’
Early on Saturday morning, he was discharged from the hospital.
The representative of the former teen idol has been contacted by DailyMail.com for comment.
It was questioned of Efron’s agent why the patient required hospitalization since the problem was very mild.
In response, the representative reiterated that Efron’s hospital visit was merely a precaution and did not explain why he needed to be pulled out of the swimming pool.
He went on stage with Dutch DJ Martin Garrix before the incident happened.
The former Disney Channel star has been traveling to Europe and Ibiza these past two weeks.
He just went to St. Tropez for a vacation earlier in the month, and two weeks ago, he spent a day on a yacht with friends in Ibiza.
The incident occurred almost ten years after he «shattered» his jaw when, while jogging at home, he stumbled on some socks and hit a granite fountain with his chin.
He said in an interview with Men’s Health Magazine in 2022 that he passed out and woke up with «his chin bone hanging off his face.»
According to Efron, the masseter muscles on the inside of his jaw and face ‘corrected’ for the damage by growing larger, which is how he underwent such a spectacular makeover.
He claims that this explains why, at the time, he appeared so different. The masseters simply expanded. They recently grew to an enormous size.
Rumors of Efron getting plastic surgery have been rife since the accident, but the attractive actor has stated that the changes are only the result of breaking his jaw.
The High School Musical actor further stated that he was unaware, until his mother called to inquire about whether he had had surgery, that he was a major talking point on social media and had actually gone viral for his unusual-looking jaw.
He told the magazine, ‘I absolutely wouldn’t be able to do this work if I appreciated what other people thought of me to the amount that they may think I do.’
Efron became popular on Twitter in April 2021 after appearing in an Earth Day video! The Musical has a thicker jawline and a more pronounced square chin.
In the video, after learning that Bill Nye and Justin Bieber were collaborating on a make-believe Earth Day musical, Efron excitedly referred to him as a «genius.»
It gave followers reason to believe that the attractive celebrity had undergone plastic surgery.
In support of Efron, his friend Kyle Sandilands said that the Baywatch star would never do anything like that, drawing a comparison between him and an oil painting by an Old Master.
At the time, the Australian radio host—who has known Zac for years—put an end to rumors on The Kyle and Jackie O Show.
Three years before to his downfall, in January 2018, Zac Efron was spotted at the Golden Globe Awards.
«I would be aware if he had undergone any plastic surgery,» Kyle said, going on to inform his co-host Jackie «O» Henderson that Zac hadn’t undergone any procedures «of course.»
