At the 72nd San Sebastian International Film Festival in Spain on Thursday, Monica Bellucci and her partner Tim Burton put on a provocative show in a black frock.
The long-sleeved dress with a slight off-shoulder cut that dipped in the middle to reveal Monica’s cleavage left her looking stunning.
With her floor-length dress and its tight fit, Monica accessorized her look with a pair of black sunglasses.Actress Monica from Beetlejuice accessorized her outfit with a black purse and a diamond necklace to up the glam factor.
Tim, 66, gripped the Italian siren’s hand tenderly while looking great in an all-black suit and tinted glasses.
Monica and Tim walked the red carpet at the Maria Callas: Letters and Memoirs film premiere.
A documentary called Maria Callas: Letters and Memoirs chronicles Monica and the cast’s experiences staging the play of the same name from 2019 to 2023.
The Paris play was toured throughout Europe and America by Monica and her group, stopping in cities such as London, Los Angeles, New York, Athens, Monaco, and Spoleto, Italy.
One of the most well-known and significant opera singers of the 20th century, Maria Callas, was a Greek soprano who was born in America. Her life story is depicted in the play.
Even though Monica has been an actress for more than 30 years, Maria Callas: Letters and Memoirs was her stage debut.
Stage frightened Monica described her role to Opera Wire, saying, «I knew the great singer, the performer.» As with [Anna] Netrebko and [Montserrat] Caballé, I contacted Callas to gauge her attitude even when I was performing Mozart in the Jungle.
However, I was ignorant of Maria’s existence, the Onassis incident, or the fact that she was a phenomenal diva Divina. However, it wasn’t until Tom Volf approached me with this project and provided me these letters and memoirs that I truly understood the woman and the person. Because I could relate to her sensibility and vulnerabilities, it was a whole other narrative.
That’s why, when I read those letters and memoirs, I couldn’t help myself—even though it was my first time performing on stage. I stated: «I’m scared, but I want to do it because those letters and memoirs really inspired me, and I want to share them with someone else.» ‘
Born in 1923 and passing away in 1977, Maria Callas had a romantic relationship with Aristotle Onassis, the second husband of Jackie Kennedy.
After the show, Monica graciously stopped by to speak with fans who were gathered behind a barrier.
Tim and Monica started dating in October 2023. He directed her in their first production together, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
Tim has two children and has only been married once, although he did have a long-term romance with Helena Bonham Carter. Monica has been married twice previously.
