At Taylor Swift’s party, Ina Garten discloses that she played BEER PONG and shares the profanity-filled drinking game tips Abby Wambach gave her
According to Ina Garten, she participated in beer pong at a party hosted by Taylor Swift.
The 76-year-old Food Network actress relived the hilarious encounter in a Wall Street Journal interview, recalling her backstage experience at Swift’s concert.
Laughing, Ina remembered the profanity-filled counsel soccer player and fellow Swiftie Abby Wambach bestowed upon her upon accepting her offer to serve as her «adviser» in beer pong.»»I’m obsessed with Taylor Swift,» Ina started. «She asked us to a party she threw for the entire team after the show. Then my buddy Kate suggested that we go play beer pong.

As we were leaving, I saw Abby Wambach, a soccer player who had just won the world cup, and she whispered to me, «I’m going to be your adviser.» «Excellent!» is how I feel. «What’s your advice?» I asked. «Get the f**king ball in the f**king cup!» she exclaimed.
«And I was like, that’s your advice!» Garten remembers thinking.
With a laugh, Ina said that she was terrible at beer pong and that this was her one and only game. In addition to being ardent admirers of one another, Ina and Taylor, 34, are friends. The singer of Midnights earlier said that the chef has altered her outlook on food.
The singer said, «My most powerful memories of Ina come from when I first discovered her TV show,» in an interview with Food Network magazine that celebrated the 20-year run of Ina’s show Barefoot Contessa.

«I was in my teens, and touring was my life,» she went on. I never did much cooking on my few days off at home because it always seemed like a nuisance.
The Shake It Off singer called Ina’s method of cooking a kind of self-nurturing. Since then, cooking has served as both a stress reliever and a genuine means of self-calming on difficult days. She said, «I will always be appreciative to her for giving me that.»
Ina disclosed in April how she obtained tickets for Taylor’s Eras tour in Paris. In an interview with People, the extraordinary chef, who is releasing her biography Be Ready When the Luck Happens in October, talked about how she became a fan of the artist and how she managed to get the highly sought-after tickets.
«I realized, «Wait a minute, isn’t she going to be in Paris in May?» when I mentioned that I would be in Paris in May,» she remarked.
Like many other Swifties around the globe, Ina got online early in the morning to secure a ticket for the now-sold-out Eras tour.
«I was online at three in the morning to see if I could get two good tickets, and I did,» she exclaimed with triumph.
The well-known chef said, «Now I’m trying to figure out what I can wear that’s sparkly.»
Although Ina did not say who she would be singing Taylor’s songs to, she did say that she and a «very good friend» will be there.
Even though Ina was rushing to get tickets, she had already met the All Too Well singer and was raving about how much she loved her.

When Food Network Magazine asked rock musicians ten years ago who their favorite Food Network personalities were, Taylor picked me, which is how I actually met her, Ina recalled.
«She came for the day’s photo shoot, and we got to spend some time together after that,» she went on. One day in East Hampton, she returned for lunch at my invitation. I simply adore her so much.
Though it’s not Ina’s first Swifty rodeo—in 2015, the well-known figure attended Taylor’s 1989 tour. She remembered, «We just had the most amazing time, and she invited us to come to the party afterwards.»
In a 2019 Instagram post, the chef wished Taylor a happy birthday and called her a «beacon of light for women of all generations.»
«Including me,» she said, holding out a cute picture of the two of them. What a great Billboard Awards speech. «Congratulations!» she wrote as she added the hashtag #womanofthedecade to her endearing statement.
Another heartfelt birthday greeting for the pop queen came from Ina in 2021, who referred to her as one of the «most creative artistic geniuses of our time!»
She said, «Anyone who wants to sail their own ship can really be inspired by you.» «Sending love.»
