At the 2024 Emmy Awards, Reese Witherspoon dazzles in a modest gown while sharing a HUGE update on Legally Blonde 3

At the 2024 Primetime Emmys, Reese Witherspoon commanded attention on the red carpet by emulating Hollywood glitz and dropping tantalizing hints about upcoming developments about one of her most famous movies.

Representing The Morning Show, the 48-year-old Oscar winner was nominated for Lead Actress in a Drama. She looked stunning in a strapless black Dior gown with exquisite floral details.

Her gorgeous gold clutch and sophisticated updo matched her timeless grace.Witherspoon fielded questions about the newest developments in the Legally Blonde series and the possibility of a third sequel to the 2001 hit while walking the red carpet at Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater on Sunday.

«We’re about to start the process where we’re trying to find the young Elle Woods for a TV show we have called Legally Blonde that starts filming in March,» she told ET, before adding that «she’s got to kind of look like me.» ‘I’m extremely happy to share this role with other people,’ Reese continued.

Regarding a third movie, the celebrity promptly retorted, «No update.» In the 2001 film Legally Blonde, Matthew Davis played Elle Woods, a sorority girl who enrolls in Harvard Law School in an attempt to win back her former boyfriend.

Elle breaks through preconceptions and establishes her career as a lawyer along the road. Notable performances in the movie were also given by Victor Garber, Selma Blair, and Luke Wilson.

To further solidify its cultural legacy, the original movie was also turned into a Broadway musical in 2007. Eugene and Dan Levy, who are emceeing the ceremony for the first time as a father-son team, will make history.

The performers won their own Emmy Awards in 2020 for their work on the popular television show Schitt’s Creek, which they co-created and starred in for six seasons.

«The idea of being asked to host this year in an actual theater was incentive enough for two Canadians who won our Emmys in a literal quarantine tent,» they wrote in a statement to Vanity Fair last month, confirming their hosting role.

«We’re thrilled to be able to raise a glass to this extraordinary season of television,» the couple said, adding that they were looking forward to spending the evening with everyone.
