Insiders now claim that when Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck purchased their marital house, almost a year before their final breakup, they were not fully in agreement.
«Ben’s idea and a major compromise for her was the $68 million mansion,» a source told People on Thursday.
«She accepted it because of its roomy design, which accommodates both of their families, a gym and a pickleball court, office space, and it has two private entrances,» the insider continued. She pointed out that the arrangement was perfect for Ben’s kids, Violet, 18, Finn, 15, and Samuel, 12, as well as JLo’s twins, Max and Emme, 16, who are in their 16s.
The Beverly Hills property was purchased by the couple for $60.8 million in May 2023, but by July 2024, they had listed it for sale, one month before Lopez, 55, filed for divorce.
The source for the outlet claims that the 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom property is still up for sale, but the singer Jenny From The Block didn’t exactly fit in with its ultra-modern design.
They said, «She adores the romantic, Spanish, European vibe.» But after they got settled in, Ben, 52, wasn’t all that thrilled about the location either.
According to the insider, Ben never loved Brentwood and found it difficult and time-consuming to deal with traffic from the property because his life and his children are located there.
Since then, the Batman star has spent $20.5 million on a brand-new bachelor pad for himself. And this week, Jen was spotted showing off two stunning Beverly Hills homes.
According to its Zillow listing, the ex-couples are still trying to sell their expansive marital residence, known as Crestview Manor.
After major renovations, they paid $60.85 million for the estate last year, but now they want $68 million.
The 38,000 square foot, twelve-bedroom, twenty-four-bathroom main home at Crestview Manor is complemented by a 5,000 square foot guest penthouse, a two-bedroom guardhouse, a caretaker house, and a twelve-car garage.
A bar, a home gym, a sports lounge, a boxing ring, basketball and pickleball courts, and parking for eighty cars are among the amenities.
According to a source who spoke to People recently, Ben is «slowly moving into his new home,» which is «where he wants to be: close to his kids and in a neighborhood that he loves.»
On July 24, Jennifer’s birthday, he closed escrow on his $20.5 million, five-bedroom, six-bathroom Brentwood property.
