EXCLUSIVE: Laura Hamilton, host of A Place in the Sun, has reconnected with a married businessman; nevertheless, colleagues claim that his estranged wife is «upset» over their divorce
Presenter Laura Hamilton of A Place in the Sun has reportedly moved on to a married businessman, according to MailOnline.
After divorcing her spouse of nine years, Alex Goward, in January, the 42-year-old TV host began dating 44-year-old CEO James Pettigrew.
James has reportedly been «spending all his time» with Laura, who is well-known for her part in the Channel 4 property series, according to those close to the couple.
However, a friend of James’ separated wife Jackie told MailOnline that Jackie was «unaware» her husband was dating Laura when they first started dating, and that she is currently going through a difficult divorce as a result of the couple’s connection.
Laura and James, who are married to Jackie and have two daughters together, were seen grinning as a couple in May at the Scottish FA Cup Final, when they were attending the Old Firm rivals Celtic and Rangers play.
According to a source, Laura and James have been dating since January and spend all of their time together.
Laura is single now that she and her ex-husband have split up, but James is still married, and their relationship has caused a great deal of sorrow and distress to his estranged wife Jackie.
She didn’t know about their romance in the beginning and is currently going through a difficult divorce; her two girls are her top priorities.
‘Laura and James have tried their hardest to keep their relationship a secret, but after months together, they’ve become quite close and are determined to make this work.’
In January 2022, Laura’s marriage to her ex-husband Alex, with whom she had two children, Rocco, age 10, and Tahlia, age 8, came to an end.
Following their split, in which Laura moved out of the couple’s Surrey family home, the former Dancing On Ice star talked about feeling like she had «failed.»
«We are co-parenting, and it works,» she remarked. However, even with that, I felt a bit like I had failed.
Laura bought a new house in February 2022 and renovated it for two years before selling it early this year.
«I juggled managing the renovation, in between being a single mother and continuing to pursue the TV job I very much love,» the woman posted on Instagram.
Although I had no intention of selling my house, a few months ago I felt that it was time for my family and I to part ways.
Speaking on the dissolution of her marriage to Alex, the former children’s TV host acknowledged that their paths were diverging.
It was a choice we both made, the woman remarked. Though we are currently on different paths, we still have a great deal of respect for one another.
By the time it was publicized, we had already triumphed over many challenging circumstances.
However, I consider myself fortunate that we have the bond and mutual respect that we do, and our first focus will always be the happiness of our kids.
The CEO of Prospero, a services and maintenance company, is Laura’s new partner.
To help his business, Laura is coming to speak at a corporate function that James is throwing in November.
They will talk about the ‘amazing volumes of commercial recycling’ that his company handles.
The TV personality started her career in children’s television, making appearances on Nickelodeon, then in 2011 she took part in Dancing On Ice on ITV.
Since 2012, she has presented A Place in the Sun, and she frequently updates her Instagram account with photos from her sun-filled vacations and filming excursions.
