Following the Friends star’s ketamine overdose, police detain a doctor and drug dealers
In relation to the passing of adored actor Matthew Perry, a physician and several drug dealers have been taken into custody.
According to TMZ, the unidentified medic and drug dealers were detained when it was alleged that they provided the Friends actor with the ketamine that ultimately killed him in October 2023.
Perry’s cause of death was eventually identified as «the acute effects of ketamine» after he was discovered unconscious in the hot tub of his Los Angeles residence. Multiple dealers and at least one doctor have been placed under arrest by the authorities. It is unknown whether they have been charged, and their identities have not been made public.
In an effort to determine which of the suspects administered Perry the lethal dosage, numerous law enforcement agencies have conducted searches and confiscated phones, computers, and other gadgets. Federal charges have been filed, and the US attorney for Los Angeles and the director of the DEA will make the announcement at a press conference later today, according to ABC.
In May, Los Angeles police announced that they were conducting an investigation in conjunction with the US Drug Enforcement Administration and the US Postal Inspection Service.
It was previously revealed that one of the people who had been «multiple times» examined by the LAPD into the killing was Charlie Sheen’s ex-wife, Brooke Mueller. She hasn’t been identified as one of those detained, though, according to TMZ.
This indicates that the ketamine discovered in his system following his drowning in his Los Angeles home’s hot pool was not prescribed.
