«Having three children is not easy.» Beyoncé opens out about parenthood, privacy, and the «prison» of celebrity, saying she didn’t want her daughter Blue-Ivy to perform on stage during the Renaissance tour
For some, one of the most memorable moments from Beyoncé’s epic Renaissance global tour was seeing Blue-Ivy Carter accompany her famous mother on stage.
Between March and September 2023, the singer’s 12-year-old daughter with Jay-Z became a regular feature during her live acts as the tour progressed from continental Europe to the United States.
However, the R&B singer acknowledges that before making her stage debut at Saint Denis’ Stade De France on May 26, where she shocked audiences by dancing with her mother to versions of the songs My Power and Black Parade—which was released in response to George Floyd’s 2020 murder—she was hesitant to let her oldest child perform.

Beyoncé, 43, who is frequently eager to keep her life as a working mother distinct from her life as an international star, thought back on the uncommon choice she made to allow one of her kids to take center stage in front of a large audience.
«Blue is a creative person.» She told the October issue of GQ that she had excellent taste in both music and clothing. She is an amazing performer, painter, and editor. Since she was three years old, she has been making up characters.
Though Blue is a natural, I did not want her to perform live. Blue desired to have it for herself. She earned it and took it seriously.
Most importantly, she enjoyed herself! Every night, we all witnessed as she grew larger and larger in front of our eyes.
The R&B singer, who is also a mother of six-year-old twins named Rumi and Sir, acknowledges that her daughter’s tour was made possible by a pre-planned choice to do 56 gigs in five months during her kids’ summer breaks from school.
«I try to limit my touring to after my kids get out of school,» she remarked. I’ve always imagined living a life that would allow me to travel the world with my family and introduce them to various cultures, languages, and architectural styles.

«Bringing up three children is not easy.»I adore it. It is gratifying and rooted. I always travel with my kids in tow. They join me in the studio and come to my office after school. They are practicing their dance.
«I’ve worked incredibly hard to ensure that my kids can have as much normalcy and privacy as possible, and that my personal life isn’t turned into a brand,» she continued.Celebrities can easily transform our daily lives into works of performance art. I’ve worked really hard to uphold my boundaries and keep my family and I safe. My peace is not worth any amount of money.
As of right now, the artist has released two albums in a vast conceptual voyage that has so far shown black influence on country music with Cowboy Carter (2023) and disco with Renaissance (2021).
For the time being, at least, the conclusion of the trilogy is a matter of need to know, but she acknowledges that the countdown will start when she steps away from the limelight that has been shining in the wake of Carter’s unexpected exclusion from the newly revealed Country Music Awards nominees.
The singer, who was born in Texas, did not garner even one vote, even though her most recent album, Cowboy Carter, became an overnight sensation when it was released.
The album was universally regarded as a smash, and its first single, Texas Hold ‘Em, shot to the top of the charts, including the country list. Therefore, its omission from this year’s nominees was noticeable.

She declared, «I only work on what liberates me.» It’s celebrity that can feel like a jail at times. That’s why you won’t see me on the red carpet or when I disappear until I have something new to show.
«I am a musician first,» she continued. It has always come first for me. I waited to pursue anything that would detract from my artistic ability until I was certain that I had achieved mastery in my first love—music.
«If I’m not really passionate about something, I don’t waste my time on it.» It’s not for me if I don’t go asleep dreaming about it and if I don’t wake up thinking about it.
One of those loves is whiskey, and the singer is eager to launch her own brand and enter the already complex market.
«Whiskey is my favorite food,» she said. The scent, the color, and the way it moves within the glass… and I adore the anecdotes that accompany it.
Each bottle possesses a past. I also enjoy sharing whiskey with folks who haven’t realized how much they appreciate it yet.
The vocalist is content to indulge herself in side ventures for the time being that allow her to express her creativity outside of the recording studio.
«My voice has always been my companion,» the woman remarked. That explains why I’ve always been content to be alone myself.
«Music can speak to my heart even when I am at a loss for words.» But I always find my calm in those own havens, the automobile and the studio.
«I swim, paint, decorate, make honey, and design costumes and sets.» I’ve designed animation and written children’s books for my own kids.
«I am happy when I am creating something.»
