Jennifer Lopez dresses like Queen Charlotte for an opulent 55th birthday celebration with a Bridgerton theme
On Saturday, Jennifer Lopez celebrated her early birthday in the Hamptons, New York, with a royal theme.
The Hustlers actress celebrated her 55th birthday on Wednesday, July 24, with a lavish celebration over the weekend. She dressed up as Queen Charlotte from Bridgerton and held court in her very own throne.
The actress dazzled in an ornate blue corset ball gown with gold embroidery accents that glinted in the dark in a video montage posted to her Instagram.
The video featured scenes from her special night, including a white horse-drawn carriage arriving to pick her up, and was matched to orchestral music from the historical romance series on Netflix.
Though her husband Ben Affleck, 51, was noticeably absent due to continuous divorce rumors, Lopez was surrounded by her closest friends and family, including mother Guadalupe Rodríguez. The couple hasn’t been spotted together in two months.
Her caramel-toned tresses were styled in a voluminous updo, and she accessorized her regal appearance with delicate golden jewelry and transparent white gloves.
Lopez ruled the dance floor and sat on a throne, being serenaded by a string quartet.
The image showed her seated next to her 16-year-old son Max at the candlelight dining table. Additionally, she had a kiss with her 66-year-old longtime manager Benny Medina at another moment in the video.
Each attendee had on a suitably elaborate and fashionable Regency-era outfit.
The mother of two was spotted entertaining the audience and belting out songs into the microphone at one point throughout the evening.
The hitmaker of «Love Don’t Cost a Thing» changed into a gorgeous mint green off-the-shoulder dress with golden lace details later in the evening. A similar gold headdress was worn by her atop her head.
The four-tiered birthday cake’s candles were then blown out by the birthday girl.

During the celebration, Lopez was the life of the party. Her friends surrounded her on the dance floor, and a video that her friend Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas posted showed her dancing while having fun with the tulle layers of her outfit.

The Grammy candidate looked stunning for the event wearing a $3,400 mid-length shirtdress from Dior that she belted and a pair of studded flats.
Compared to the extravagant event she hosted in her honor, the small celebration was far more subdued.
There has been confirmation that Affleck was ‘not in attendance’ at the Saturday celebration.
