The arrival of yet more distracting off-field controversy today has the England camp in a rage, as Kieran Trippier’s wife raised eyebrows by posting a mysterious message on social media.
‘Sooner or later you get over the s*** you said you’d never get over and it’s the nicest feeling in the world,’ 33-year-old Charlotte Trippier posted in an Instagram story Wednesday, the eve of the Slovenia game.
People on social media claimed she had unfollowed her Newcastle star spouse after he’s profile did not appear in the list of accounts she was following this morning. Trippier, however, is still following her.
The source claimed: «Gareth Southgate and the FA will be incensed that their strategy of attempting to prevent players’ personal information from surfacing in the media during the European Championship appears to have failed.»
The FA will be extremely frustrated because despite their best efforts, they have not been able to stop the situation, particularly with regard to Kyle Walker.
In fact, it’s been somewhat disastrous—first there was Lauryn Goodman’s trip to Germany, and now there is all this conjecture about Trippier.
A second source revealed: ‘All the close relatives of the England players were strictly told that news about their personal lives had to be kept out of the media because it could affect team morale and performance.
‘Some people have gone out of their way to get media attention during the Euros. Southgate will be furious because they’ve not been able to keep down some of this noise, which is bound to affect some of the players.’
The source revealed that Lauryn Goodman, Kyle Walker’s former lover, has already indicated that she may travel to Germany this weekend for the team’s round of 16 match.
Charlotte and Kieran Trippier are childhood sweethearts, who married in June 2016 and have three children. Charlotte used to also run Instagram fashion blog Style Up Sisters alongside her sister Rosie Wray, but the account appears to no longer be active.

Rather than heading to Germany, Charlotte spent last Friday at the well-known Newcastle fair The Hoppings, posting pictures of her day out with the couple’s three kids to Instagram.
Two problematic WAGs who have visited Germany are Kyle Walker’s wife Annie Kilner and his ex-lover Lauryn Goodman (who is seen posing with their baby Kairo).
Kieran, who is currently staying at a five-star hotel close to Weimar with the rest of the England team, was spotted grinning broadly yesterday during training and had a wedding ring visible on his left hand.
The star has so far started both of the Three Lions’ games at the European Championship in Germany, despite playing left back out of position.
Despite some worries about his workload as he continues to recover from a calf injury that disrupted the end of his 2023–24 campaign, he is expected to go three for three tonight as well.
Footage emerged last year of Trippier enjoying a lively night out at Cosy Joes karaoke bar in Newcastle to toast his team making the Champions League while his wife was away in Spain.
An onlooker said: ‘They looked very cosy. They were clearly having a great time. It appeared there was a lot of horseplay and, at one point, a woman even jumped on his back.’
Trippier would deny he is a party animal though, and earlier this month described his ‘boring’ lifestyle while appearing on The Overlap podcast with Gary Neville.
He said: ‘I’m a quiet guy now really, I just train and go home to my kids and my missus. I’m just committed to football.’
The defender added that he had recently watched the popular Netflix series Griselda.
